WLTH Presents Seth Stephens-Davidowitz
November 16 2017On Sunday October 29, WLTH were proud to present Seth Stephens-Davidowitz in his highly insightful and thought provoking keynote, ‘What Google can tell us about who we really are: a window into the human psyche’.
As part of James Street’s RESORT 2017 program, Seth’s presentation dove deep into trillions of gigabytes of data to reveal what we’re all really thinking.
The former Google data scientist, and author of Everybody Lies, used anonymous internet data to explore how Google searches can unlock insights into human behavior, choice and decision making.
“You have an incentive to tell Google the truth to get the information you want,” Seth said.
During his presentation, Seth shared some fascinating research ranging from India’s breastfeeding epidemic, to the US 2016 General Election, where the biggest predictor of Trump’s election was attributed to racist Google searches.
Seth also stated that despite Australia’s laidback persona, we suffer from the highest levels of anxiety in the world.
Sometimes shocking and incredibly amusing, Seth said that “Google can tell us about who we are as a society.”
WLTH look forward to working with Seth again in 2018, and are excited to partner with Seth as a long-term advocate for WLTH.
